My Christmas Wish List

I wish for Peace on Earth, Goodwill to all.

I wish that fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and neighbors who are serving in the military were home with their families for Christmas.

I wish that national and international leaders would seek peaceful negotiation rather than resorting to military intervention.

I wish food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, love for the lonely, and an introduction to Jesus Christ for those whose lives are lost and who are seeking another way of living.

I wish Christian churches would become more Christ-like and would be a model of living in healthy relationships with persons who see life differently.

I wish more persons were hearing God's call to ministry and would commit themselves to ministry training and to the church.

I wish every congregation would treat their pastor with love and respect.

I wish every pastor would treat their congregation with love and respect.

I wish churches of all sizes would be focused on the mission of "continuing the work of Jesus."

I wish large churches would show more respect for small churches and small churches would respect the ministries of large churches, and that everyone seeking a church home would find one that was "just right."

I wish for each of us more faithful obedience to the Great Commandments: To love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength; and to love our neighbor as ourself.
